I strive to craft amazing stories for clients and employers. I am deeply inspired by the creativity, resilience, and rhythms of my hometown, The Motor City, Motown, The Home of The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and Detroit Techno City.

My Background

Companies succeed by hiring the right person who wants to make a difference, not just do a job. I have developed effective messaging, high-level presentations, newsletters, multimedia and other communications for IT/automotive, healthcare and manufacturing industries . About Me

When you live in Metropolitan Detroit, you learn to look for beauty among the rubble, you find possibilities amid obstacles, and you learn how to get things done. The murals you see on this page are a reflection of this.

More than ten years ago when Detroit was at its lowest point, guerilla artist Katherine Craig bravely climbed a vacant building to create beauty among the blight. Her bold move, along with the popular t-shirt, "Detroit Hustles Harder," capsulize the spirit of the City and many of its people.

Since then that vacant building has been renovated with windows and plans for mixed-use development, a sublime mural called "The Girl with the D Earring" by Sydney James has gone up to represent an ongoing revitalization of Detroit, a city down, but never out.

And while our region and state have certainly had well-publicized troubles, I believe we all can agree Detroit still knows how to put the rest of the country and much of the world on some very, very nice wheels. (The Mustang, the Corvette, the Camaro, and The Charger, etc).

Yet, cars aren't the only things we make to keep America and much of the world moving. Detroit's Motown music continues to impress young and old far and wide. But beyond the timeless Motown Sound, the City has made significant strides in advancing the musical genres of gospel, jazz, punk, rap, and in introducing Techno music to the world. Today's Techno music just like Motown forever captures the rhythm and constant energy of the auto assembly line.

It is this very same Motor City Spirit--one dedicated to productivity, joy where you can find it, and creativity--that inspires and propels me to guide teams, organizations, and small businesses to deliver impactful communications pieces.

I invite you to review my online writing portfolio, and I would welcome the chance to connect with you about how my work and experience can advance internal communications goals. Additional electronic work is available upon request.

I thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Kelly Spencer
